Term 1 Extension Project

This term for year 7&8 we have been working on a project for the whole of term 1 we have been looking and leaning more about Protest in New Zealand. We all got to chose which protest we would like to be looking at for the whole term and i chose to do a project all about the Women’s suffrage protest. I chose this protest because i felt like this was a very serious topic to talk about and how women were not able to do the same-things that men did like having the right to vote, get a job or even go to school. Lots of womenWomen’s rights were taken away and thats why i think that this topic is important.

This task is about the women’s suffrage protest and how other  people especially women felt about this topic and how they had no rights. This scratch project is about different  peoples point of view and what they thought about this. I have include lots of women that have protested about this topic and a man and what he thought.

This task was very challenging for me because i put a-lot of effort in it and how i coded this and drew everything from scratch. But i’m glad i worked really hard on this task because i enjoyed the outcome. I hope you enjoyed this task and i hope that you have learnt more about this topic.

Equivalent Fractions

Good afternoon, Today i have completed my maths task for today and my task to do was called word problems and to complete this task i had to answer five slides that had equivalent fractions, i found this task really easy and simple to do. I hope to do this task again but hopefully next time it can be harder, Thank you for looking at this blog post bye:)

Word problems

Good morning, Today i have completed my maths task for today and my task to do was called word problems and to complete this task i had to answer eight slides that had fraction, decimal questions, i found this task really easy and simple to do. I hope to do this task again but hopefully next time it can be harder, Thank you for looking at this blog post bye:)

Melting choclate

Today,  Me Kensi and Eleni have made mould out of chocolate but how did we do it? First we got some chocolate and put it in a bowl and melted it in the microwave and steered it up. after we have done it we put them into a pipping bag and we all worked together to put it in the bag and not make a mess. we all took turns to make a type of creation out of it and create what we wanted with it. i made some hearts and dots. This task was very fun to do because everybody work as a time to do this and it was just a lot of fun. Thank you Miss stone for letting us do this experiment it was a lot of fun.

Experiment day 1- Ooblex

Good  morning, Today i have completed my science experiment and task for today and it was about a type of non-Newtonian fluid that is made when you combine corn starch and water. For this way we had to combine corn starch and water and mix it together. After we had done that we had noticed that the mixture had become solid when you applied pressure and a liquid when you had not applied pressure. This task was very fun and interesting to do because it was fun when we got to touch the mixture and feel it, i enjoyed this task a lot and i hope very soon we do it again. Thank you for looking at this blog post i hope you enjoyed this and bye:)

Chemical and physical reactions

Good afternoon, Today i have completed my inquiry task for today and my task to do was called  physical and chemical and to complete this task i had to answer two slides that had questions about chemical and physical changes, i found this task really easy and simple to do. I hope to do this task again but hopefully next time it can be harder, Thank you for looking at this blog post bye:)

Decimals (maths task)

Good afternoon, Today i have completed my maths task for today and my task to do was called decimal and to complete this task i had to answer two slides that had adding decimal questions, i found this task really easy and simple to do. I hope to do this task again but hopefully next time it can be harder, Thank you for looking at this blog post bye:)

Fractions recap

Good morning, Today i have completed my maths task for today and my task to do was called fractions recap and to complete this task i had to answer two slides that had adding, subtracting and fractions questions, i found this task really easy and simple to do. I hope to do this task again but hopefully next time it can be harder, Thank you for looking at this blog post bye:)

Atoms doc

Good afternoon, Today i have completed my inquiry task for today and it was called Atoms doc. To complete this task i had to first watch a video and then after that i had to write the difference between Molecules and atoms.  The difference between them is that Atoms are single neutral particles and Molecules are neutral particles that are made of two or more atoms bonded together. I enjoyed doing this task because  it was easy to do, i hope you enjoyed looking at this blog post.:)  I have also posted my google drawing of Water molecule h20; )

LI 5: We are learning that everything is made out of different combinations of atoms and that different materials have different properties.

Everything is made up of different combinations of these atoms. For example, water molecules are made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. That is why water is also called H2O.

What is the difference between a molecule and an atom?

Atoms are single neutral particles and Molecules are neutral particles that are made of two or more atoms bonded together.

Atoms also come in different sizes, depending on how many electrons they have. An oxygen atom is a lot (16 x) larger than a hydrogen atom.  Draw a picture (and take a photo) or create an image on google draw of a water molecule H20. It contains 2 hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.

Example = this is a carbon dioxide atom.

Different materials have different properties. For example, they have different melting and boiling points, different mass (weight), density and some are stronger than others. This is caused by their molecular structure.

We need to keep this in mind when designing different products. For example, we make saucepans out of metal because they won’t melt on our stoves. However, if we tried to place a plastic pan on the stove it would melt because it has a lower melting point. We can create strong metal by
